The design goal for this store was to convey a modern look while mixing modern and traditional elements together. The building exterior is masonry, a traditional material, but the geometry of the entry creates a modern look. The store entrance has an identifying canopy with signage above that communicates both the entrance and the brand. This store is part of a lifestyle center, so the circulation on the site creates the opportunity to view the building on all four sides. This feature dictated a four-sided wall design or facade. Retail, restaurants and shops completely surround the building.
A local, family owned store in a high-growth area, Barretts offers high quality custom home theater systems that attract customers who are interested in installing high-end home theater systems. The building had to meet Barrett’s design goals as well as the lifestyle center developer’s requirements.
Structural, mechanical and electrical engineering and landscape architecture were provided by sub consultants.
