Frankfort, IL
Frankfort is an upscale residential/farming community that was established in the early 19th Century. This German immigrant farming community has maintained its heritage and resisted large development influence from the north in Orland Park, Ill.
Arcline Associates was commissioned to plan, design and build a viable retail development anchored by Walgreens. The goal was to create a design reminiscent of the heritage of the German farming community and sensitive to the needs of Walgreens. The development had 6,000 square feet of retail shops in phase I and 25,000 square feet of retail in Phase II. The front entrance to Walgreens resembles a grain silo and the store facade is cobblestone. Greenspace with a pavilion mark the entrance to this high profile area.
Structural, mechanical and electrical engineering and landscape architecture were provided by sub consultants.
