The junior high had structural defects and waterproofing issues with a walkway on the lower roof level. After review, Shive-Hattery designed the replacement of the existing waterproofing system and repairs to the deteriorated concrete decking. Improvements included new drains, piping, waterproofing system and architectural paver system. The new architectural paver system had a green roof section featuring varieties of sedum and other plant materials.
