Soaring ceilings, covered porches and rolling landscapes offer a serene atmosphere for those staying at the Iowa River Hospice. Iowa River Hospice wanted a warm and inviting, lodge like environment for their patients who are in need of end of life care. The home away from home feel was the primary theme in the design of the 12,000 square foot facility.
Six patient suites with bathing and quite room facilities focus around a central supervisory nurse station. Family support spaces are also provided for extended family stays. These areas include: kitchen, soft seating and bathing areas. Grief support areas are provided to assist with family care and complete administrative services are provided for contiguous operational support. Clad with stone and low maintenance “Shake” style vinyl siding, this facility was designed to fit with the adjoining residential neighborhood as an extension to the community.
