A 200-acre retail development, Jordan Creek Town Center, will anchor what is expected to be a 3,000 acre of commercial and residential development in the West Des Moines, Iowa community. Site features include a three-acre feature lake and pedestrian plaza, including a pedestrian bridge, surrounded by nearly two million square feet of commercial/retail development, restaurants, a motel and an amphitheater. Vehicle traffic is accommodated by provision of over 10,000 parking spaces with perimeter circulation roads and four-lane access drives.
In addition to engineering, landscape architecture, surveying and site design services, Shive-Hattery designed nearly a mile of trails to connect Jordan Creek Town Center to surrounding neighborhoods and to the City of West Des Moines' trail network. These trails are built to City standards and provide safe and attractive routes for bicyclists and other trail users to access the mall.
