Shive-Hattery completed engineering design and construction documents for street reconstruction and storm sewer improvements along two streets in Urbandale. Those street improvements included approximately 3,000 feet of 128th Street from south of Aurora Avenue to the north city limits and Aurora Avenue from 128th Street west approximately 0.25 mile. Aurora Avenue has a 65-foot back-to-back section, and 128th Street will feature an 81-foot back-to-back section.
The project also included the preliminary vertical profile for Aurora Avenue from the west end of the project to 142nd Street and studying traffic calming measures on 128th Street. Shive-Hattery provided all surveying work, construction plans and specifications, drawings and documentation, preparing cost estimates, permit applications and presentations for City review; traffic assessment and assisting with coordinating communications with the city, contractors and utilities.
