North Liberty, IA
US Cellular wanted to place additional antenna on the City of North Liberty water tower and needed to do a structural analysis of the tower. Because there were no drawings available, a 3D scan was used to locate antenna, coax, microwave dishes and other objects that were on the tower. The scan also enabled the designers to determine the size of the tower support members. A 3D scan eliminated the need to climb the tower and take field measurements.
