The Biology Building had problem with water leakage from the rooftop greenhouse into the brick building. Shive-Hattery provided design services for replacement of waterproofing for the rooftop greenhouse. The project involved removal of waterproofing and insulation systems and replacement with new systems. Some original components such as wall panels, pedestal and paver systems were reused. These repairs successfully solved a long-standing water infiltration problem.
In 2009, the project was cited by Sika Sarnafil, a supplier of waterproofing materials, for outstanding workmanship.
Services included architectural design, budget development, roof services, construction administration and construction observation.
