After practicing architecture as a licensed architect in Illinois since 1975, Mr. Marth joined the firm of Patrick F. Daly & Associates (PFDA, Inc.) Chicago, Illinois, where as a project architect, associate and vice president of production and design, developed long-lasting relationships over eleven years with major retailers, real estate managers and developers, brokers, and general contractors not only in the Chicagoland area but nationally. With substantial experience with real estate development, land planning and architectural design, Marth left Patrick F. Daly & Associates and incorporated Arcline Associates in 1987. Mr. Marth and three intern architects opened Arcline Associates in Des Plaines developing land plans and design documents for over a million square foot of retail shopping centers for Zaremba Corporation, Cleveland, Ohio; and other local developers. With the emergence of CAD based drafting and reduced delivery schedules, collaboration of developers, architects, and contractors in "design/build" projects, Arcline Associates adapted and specialized in each discipline with the emphasis on service. Arcline Associates, with a staff of eight architects and interns, increased it´s client base from a few in 1987 to over thirty repeat clients in 1998, that included national and local retailers, developers, and institutional clients. In 1998, Marth incorporated Arcline Construction Company, a designer-led design build company offering Arcline Associates clients a more cost effective method of delivering projects which would have been previously built as "bid/build." "Designer-led design/build" reduces the client´s window for delivery of the building to the tenant. This method reduces extras for items not included in the bid due to oversight or lack of coordination and increases the owner´s income by early delivery of the project and additional rental income. More important "designer-led design/build" has one entity responsible for coordination of design and construction. In 2000, Arcline Associates expanded its staff to fifteen employees, five licensed architects, ten intern architects and CAD technicians with clerical support staff. The future is unlimited for Arcline Associates and Arcline Construction Company, as we forge new relationships with federal, state and local municipalities for public works projects; expand our client base of retailers, developers and real estate asset managers, as well as develop our new relationships with corporate clients such as BMW of North America, Sealy Corporation and Rollex Corporation. Arcline Associates also looks forward to increasing our client base which specializes in medical clinics such as dental, orthopedics and laser eye centers, by 10% to 15%. In 2006, Arcline Associates became a division of Shive-Hattery, Inc., an architectural and engineering firm with Illinois offices in Des Plaines, Bloomington and Moline, and Iowa offices in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and West Des Moines. |
