| Single-Story Office Building, Darien, IL This portion of an 11.98 acre Mixed Used Development created a buffer between residential townhomes on the south property line and the commercial zoning along Plainfield Avenue (83rd Street) on the north as well as buffering the residential homes on the west property line from the Retail Development on the north and east property lines. We tied the Office Buildings, Retail Shops and Walgreen´s together with building materials which are used on all three buildings, with neighborhood residential style in the design of all three archetypes. Arcline Associates designed the substantial landscaping buffers, bike trails and pedestrian walkways interacting with parking and building use design. The success of the design was translating the needs and desires of the City Officials, Residential Neighbors, IDOT and Retailer Criteria into a comprise solution where all parties are winners. |
